Many large corporations and banks have their headquarters in Amsterdam, including The Royal Bank of Scotland, Akzo Nobel, Heineken International, ING Group, Ahold, TomTom, Delta Lloyd Group, and Philips. Though many small office spaces are located on the old canals, companies are increasingly relocating outside the city centre.

You can get private boat tours in classic boats, or take a tourist canal cruises, a dinner cruise, or many other options. Amsterdam Jewel Cruises offers an evening dinner cruise. The cruise starts at 7.30 pm and lasts just under three hours. You can also cruise the canals yourself, renting a boat or a pedal boat. There is a large diversity of restaurants in Amsterdam. Transport Information

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is one of the busiest airports in the world, situated 15 km (9 miles) south-west of the city. The national carrier for the Netherlands is KLM that has merged with Air France. Along with partner Delta Air Lines, they offer worldwide connections. From Schiphol there is a direct train to Amsterdam Centraal Station. The train station at Schiphol is located underground, under the main airport hall; trains to Amsterdam Central Station usually run from platform 3. Keep in mind that there are two separate railway lines to Amsterdam; one goes to Amsterdam Centraal station and the other goes to Amsterdam Zuid (Amsterdam South). These lines are not connected with each other so check if the train you board goes to the part of Amsterdam you want to reach.
