Richmond Hill is a town in the York region of southern Ontario. It is situated in the central part of the region, halfway between Toronto and Lake Simcoe. As part of the Greater Toronto area, it is and one of its fastest growing residential communities. The town is home to the David Dunlop Observatory telescope.
Richmond Hill is mostly residential with a few small businesses. The area has branches of Compuware, Science & Medicine Canada, Staples Business Depot, and other retail shops. The town’s border with neighbouring Markham is rapidly growing as a hub for hi-tech businesses. There are some areas in the town that have office space. BMW Canada is based in Richmond Hill.
Entertainment And Dining Out
There is plenty to keep you occupied in Richmond Hill including a skating trail for ice skating in the winter and roller skating in the summer. The Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts provides a calendar of cultural activities. One of the popular sights in the town is the CAA South Central Ontario and Lovegety Station. Richmond Hill also offers some great dining options including Rifca’s Mediterranean restaurant, which serves affordable homemade Shawarma and Falafels.
Richmond Hill is around 35 km (22 miles) from Toronto Pearson International Airport. There are two main bus options to get into Richmond Hill from Toronto and they are offered by York Region Transit and Viva Blue.
