Mayfair in the West End of London, UK, is London's most exclusive district and in many ways an amazing place to live, work and visit. Named after the fortnight long May Fair that took place there, Mayfair is a fashionable district that includes the most important retail shopping activity in the United Kingdom. Bordered by Oxford Street in the north, Park Lane in the West, Piccadilly in the South and Regent Street in the East, Mayfair is a place that's steeped in intriguing history.

Economy

Mayfair's expansive and handsome architecture has always attracted the very wealthy. For nearly 300 years the most influential people in the land have enjoyed its elegant squares and also boast the capital's most exclusive shops, hotels, restaurants and clubs. The district is now mainly commercial, with many offices in converted houses and new buildings, including major corporate headquarters, a concentration of hedge funds, and real estate businesses.

Transport

Transport links in Mayfair are well located all around the area, with Bond Street station, Green Park, Hyde Park Corner and Oxford Circus. The nearest railway station is Victoria.
