The Australian Capital Territory (ACT) is in Canberra the capital city of Australia. City ACT is the country’s largest inland city and the eighth largest over-all in Australia. Located at the northern end of Australia, City ACT is 280 km (170 miles) south-west of Sydney. The area surrounding City ACT is filled with historic townships, beautiful coastlines, the Snowy Mountains, and many natural wonders.
City ACT has an economy largely based on government administration and defence. The Australian Defence Force and HMAS Harman - a naval communications centre, are both headquartered in Canberra. The dominant form of transportation in Canberra is the car but you will also find public transport options as well as an extensive network of bike paths and walking trails. The Barton Highway, Remembrance Driveway, Kings Highway and Monaro Highway are the main roads leading in and out of City ACT.
