Area Information

Johannesburg is the largest city in South Africa. It is also the provincial capital of Gauteng. Johannesburg has a lot to offer in terms of sights and activities. The downtown city centre is the most-visited part of Johannesburg. Transport Information

Getting to Johannesburg is quite easy, as it has its own airport – O.R. Tambo International Airport, located 13 miles from the city centre. You can get from the airport to downtown by rail (Gautrain, a rapid suburban rail network) and by taxi (metered). You can drive to Johannesburg via several highways, such as N1 from Cape Town and N3 from Durban. Public transportation includes cross-country trains, MetroRail and Gautrain commuter train, and bus service.
